Prokies in the NFL: Week 8

By Brett Smith | November 04
Brown protection

We are at the halfway point in the NFL! That is crazy to think about considering the season was up in the air six months ago. Some Prokies had the week off, but several still made significant impacts for their teams. Also....big trade news!

Offense

Duane Brown

Brown helped lead the Seahawks offense to a big win over their divisional foes, the 49ers. Brown is currently the fifth ranked tackle per PFF grades and making a case for All-Pro this season.

Isaiah Ford

Ford recorded one reception for 10 yards this past weekend for the Dolphins. However, as of today Ford will take a new path for his NFL career.

BANG. This trade will benefit Ford greatly for his career as the Patriots struggle to find any semblance of a passing game. Newton needs some new targets and he may have just got one. He also will be joining his former teammate Dalton Keene.

Defense

Chuck Clark

Clark recorded two tackles this week in their close loss against the Steelers putting him at 42 total tackles on the season. He is ranked 10th for pass rushing per PFF grades, showing he is still a threat in a blitz.

Terrell Edmunds

On the winning side of the Steelers/Ravens game, Terrell recorded two tackles on the day which puts him at 26 total tackles on the season.

Tremaine Edmunds

Tremaine recorded six total tackles in their win against the struggling Patriots. Those are two words I thought I'd never seen next to each other. He has 52 total tackles on the season.

Kyle Fuller

Kyle recorded one tackle and a pass deflection this week in their overtime loss against the Saints.

The Joey Slye Section

Slye was 1-1 this week against the Falcons putting him at 18-21 on the season. He is still perfect from 20-39 yards at 14-14!

Bonus Section: Coaches Edition!

Bruce Arians and the Buccaneers were able to sneak by this because of a failed two point conversion by the Giants. He still has Tampa Bay in first with Antonio Brown yet to see the field. Could this be the fastest molded team ever to make the playoffs?

Injury Report

Dalton Keene - Ruled inactive this past weekend due to a knee injury, should be back in action this weekend.

Wyatt Teller
- Still listed as day to day with a strained calf, but coach Stefanski says he is improving.
UNC VT

Welcome to the Terror Dome my fellow Hokies. I am a 2019 graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Agribusiness along with minors in Communication Studies and Entrepreneurship. I come from a Hokie family. My mom, dad, sister, grandfather, uncle, great uncle, two cousins….you get the point, I bleed maroon and orange. I can’t even remember the last time I missed a Virginia Tech football game in person or on TV, laptop, iPhone, or even radio (the 2003 Texas A&M game). I am located in the beautiful small town of Seaford, Virginia working for a coffee company in research and development. In my free time you will see me playing golf, fishing, or playing electric guitar. Yes, I know how to play Enter Sandman. So to my Sons and Daughters of Hokie Nation, START JUMPING!
