"Prokies" in the NFL: Week Three

Welcome back Sons and Daughters! Week three is in the book and here you can find updates on Hokies in the NFL. It was an action packed week....full of pancakes.

The Steelers are off to a hot 3-0 start with their defense coming in clutch down the stretch. Edmunds recorded four solo tackles this week and has 16 on the season.

Settle recorded three tackles against the Browns this week, adding up to five total on the season. With DT Matt Ioannidis having a possible season-ending arm injury, Settle is the next man up to start.

Kendall returned to the field this week after a banged up knee and started in his normal position at RCB. He only recorded one tackle this week, but he will be a major factor for Washington going forward.

Kyle is still on full lock-down mode. He now ranks 6th among PFF grades for corners in total defense and 4th in pass coverage. He had four tackles and a pass deflection in the Bears epic comeback against the Falcons.

Clark had a monster game in the Monday night AFC showdown against the Chiefs. He forced a critical fumble to give Baltimore a chance to get back in the game and also recorded 10 total tackles on top of that. He's on pace for a record year already!

Tremaine also returned to the field this week after nursing a shoulder injury week two. He recorded four solo tackles and an assist in their thriller against the Rams.

Seattle is also off to a hot 3-0 start, thanks to their offense putting up some insane numbers. Brown has been key, ranking 6th in run block per PFF . He is also 8th overall among offensive tackles!

Ford made another appearance this week for the Dolphins, recording two receptions for 14 yards against Jacksonville. He's also logged 145 of 198 offensive snaps so far on the season. This is looking to be the year he makes his mark in Miami.

Not to mention this was also a homecoming for Ford as he is from Jacksonville, but has never played in TIAA Bank Field. It was evident that his pride for his hometown will always be strong as the video below solidifies that.

Thomas is an emerging top target for Haskins and Washington. He had seven targets this week, hauling in four receptions for 31 yards. He's averaging eight targets a game, just barely second behind WR Terry McLaurin.

Wyatt Teller is having a All-Pro kind of season so far. As of week three, he is the third in PFF total grades for guards and first on run blocking. Teller was the talk of Cleveland and a lot of the NFL after his play against Washington this past Sunday. He was out there pancake-ing (that's a word now. Stamp it.) his former teammates with no remorse. Sorry Kendall.

Instead of making a "Special Teams" section, this is dedicated to the only Hokie serving as kicker or punter, Joey Slye. Who by the way, is having an incredible year. Maybe we will have another one here soon....(ahem, G'day mate!)

Joey was 5/5 on Sunday in the Panthers win against the Chargers. He accounted for 15 of 21 points scored by Carolina! On the season, he is 9-9 on field goals.

Tyrod Taylor - Out indefinitely because of a...let's just say 'freak' incident of the Chargers' team doctor accidentally puncturing his lung during a shot given for muscle relief. He aims to return ASAP.

Dalton Keene - The rookie is still looking to get on the field very soon. He was taken off the injury report that was released last Wednesday, but the coaches wanted him to stay out for one more week. Expect him to make his debut this coming Sunday or the following!
