Week 2

Good Morning Hokie Nation! Week 2 of the college football season is upon us as Boston College travels to Blacksburg to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies at 8:00 pm est on the ACC Network. A quick look back to last week would show the Hokies losing to the Old Dominion Monarchs in a messy game from the Hokies. Entering the game tonight, the Hokies look to keep their defense rolling despite the loss after what was a great first impression from Dax Hollifield and Brent Pry’s defense. Grant Wells also hopes to win back the hearts of Hokie Nation after a game in which he threw 4 interceptions. Despite the tough loss last week, Hokie Nation is excited to welcome it's team back home in Lane Stadium which will undoubtedly be rocking the same as always.

Meanwhile up in Boston, the Eagles are also coming off a tough loss to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in which they lost a close game 22-21. The Eagles offense looks to clean up some things as Phil Jurkovec was pressured on almost 50% of the Rutgers pass rushes. He looks to make up for his rough showing at home after throwing 2 interceptions, one which happened at the start of the 4th quarter which could have put BC on top for good.

Both teams are hungry for their first win and the game's key matchup tonight is going to be the Eagles offensive line vs the Hokies pass rush.

Weather

Not ideal weather for the first game back in Lane Stadium this year. Temperatures hanging around a cool 65 degrees with rain expected all afternoon and into the night. Hokies, don't forget your rain jackets or ponchos. You're going to need them!

Born in Chesapeake and raised into a family of hokies, Virginia Tech is where I call home now. Attended New River Community College as a freshman and now a sophomore at VT as a transfer student in Fall 2022. Majoring in Sports Media and Analytics, I’m excited for what’s to come for me as a student at VT.

Virginia Tech sports has always been something I have been a fan of. From afternoons in Lane Stadium to nights in Cassell Coliseum, I have loved every second of it no matter the outcome.

One of my first memories of being a Tech fan was our upset win against Ohio State 35-21 where CB Donovan Riley had the game sealing pick-6. More recently, beating UNC in 6 overtimes, our run to the sweet 16, and of course winning the men’s basketball ACC Championship with upsets over UNC and Duke.
