It took a mere day of visits for the Hokies to gain a commitment. This time from in-state 2022 DL Lemar Law Jr out of Bayside High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Lemar took to his social media accounts on Wednesday morning to announce his commitment to the Hokies.

Lemar Law Jr measures in around 6'5, 300 pounds according to his most recent measurements. His large frame and size brings in a big help for the Hokie's defensive line, especially on the inside which seems like where he will be playing for Virginia Tech.

According to 247 Sports, Lemar Law Jr is rated at a .8500 (3-Star) and he ranks as the 35th best player in Virginia. The commitment from Law Jr will become the sixth commitment for the Hokie's 2022 Recruiting Class.

When looking at Lemar Jr's recruitment retrospectively, it seemed like the Hokies controlled most of it after they offered in April of 2021. The only other school that appeared to push for the 757 native quite like the Hokies were the Liberty Flames. However, at the end of the day, the Virginia Tech Staff did a tremendous job on pulling this in-state talent into the commitment boat.

Lemar Law Jr visited Virginia Tech unofficially yesterday and quite simply marked his visit as "amazing". The writing seemed to be on the wall with this commitment, and the in-state defensive linemen will be making his official visit with the Hokies on June 18th.

Now if you watch his film, it is hard to miss the impact the 2022 DL makes. His sheer size allows him to clog up inside running lanes, as well as create troubles for the short passing game with his large reach on low-hanging throws. And with newly acquired co-defensive line coach in J.C. Price, paired with Bill Teerlinck, the ceiling on Law Jr's potential only grows higher when he comes to Blacksburg.

Make sure to welcome Lemar Law Jr to the Hokie family as he is now the second Virginia recruit to join the 2022 class.
