Hokies Shutout Belmont to Open the Tuscaloosa Regional

On Friday, the Hokies faced off against Belmont and won in a dominant 5-0 game where pitching and defense shined.
Emma Lemley shined, pitching 6 innings of one-hit ball before being pulled for the final inning - presumably to reserve her for tomorrow should the Hokies need her.
Cassie Grizzard relieved her, getting the last three outs and walking one batter in the process.
Offensively, the Hokies jumped on Belmont's Maya Johnson early, with Jordan Lynch hitting a first-inning homer to give the Hokies an early lead. She went 2-3 on the day with two RBI.

Kylie Aldridge also gave the Hokies a strong performance, going 2-3 with two RBI and a homer of her own as well that put the game on ice early.

With that updated bracket, Virginia Tech will play Alabama tomorrow at noon. If they lose, they will play a double header. The second game of the doubleheader would be against the winner between Jackson State and Belmont.
