Sunset over Lane Stadium from Uncle Bobo on X

This Wednesday night when Metallica FINALLY came to Blacksburg was absolutely incredible. I had the pleasure of being there Wednesday night. Hats off to everyone involved for making that happen. I have said for a while now, Virginia Tech really needed an all-around win. Metallica delivered, and so did the entire University with a world-class event. It’s hard even now days removed, to still wrap my head around the fact that it actually happened. Wow.

WITH THAT SAID... This is a novelty, "once in a lifetime" type of opportunity. But, this is a tremendous blueprint for additional streams of revenue for the Town, University, and Athletic Department as a whole. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come and not a shooting star moment.

There has been so much incredible content to come out of this night in Lane Stadium. whether you were there and want to relive it all or are feeling chronic levels of post traumatic fear of missing out disorder, let this serve as a landing spot to take in some of my favorite content from it all.

The set up!

Pre-Show Festivities

A spectacle of a sight

Pantera

Metallica

Side note. The entrance Sandman was criminally underrated. From ACDC -> Good Bad Ugly -> a variation of Sandman into their first few songs. The entire sequence was jaw dropping and epic. Just perfect.

Enter Sandman finale

Unreal fakeout job here by Metallica.

The aftermath
