As the 2021 recruiting cycle is soon to hit its most active leg, with summer visits and camps opening up, it is important to know the pieces involved for the Hokies. I will discuss some of the recent events in recruiting, as well as names to be looking out for heading forward.

Hokies Predicted to land 2022 WR - VTScoop's very own Evan G. Watkins placed a crystal ball prediction for 2022 WR Tucker Holloway out of Andrews, NC. As it stands right now, Holloway is an unranked recruit that stands at 6-2 and weighs in at 170 pounds. Do not let this unranked mark fool you, Holloway's recruitment has been warming up recently. When watching his film from his most recent season, you can see a mix of great speed and catching abilities come together to cause problems for opposing defenses.

Schools like Virginia, Auburn, and Florida State have reportedly been in contact with the 2022 WR as well. The Hokies look like they have the lead early, but expect this to be a battle to land an emerging WR talent.

Hokies sit inside of WR Marquarius White's Top 10 - Locked in now with nine other schools for the commitment of Marquarius White, the Hokies are in for a war. This 2022 WR out of Pinson, Alabama is being placed at the top of prospect boards all over the nation. And with a 247 Sports composite rating of .88 and offers from schools like Alabama and Michigan, it is no surprise why.

White measures out to be roughly 5-10 and 155 pounds of weight. And until new measurements come in from camps and schools across the nation, we must assume that White has been gaining size for his upcoming college transition. On film, White showcases elite speed that pairs well with his playmaking abilities on both the inside and outside of the field. Watch for the Hokies to push hard to keep in the mix for his commitment.

Top LB Target locks in Official Visit - Edwin Wilson Tara Kolenge has set in place his official visit to Blacksburg for June 25th. And with talks being that the Hokies are on top of the list for Kolenge's commitment, all eyes are on the Virginia Tech Staff to close here.

Kolenge is currently rated at an .8751 according to 247 Sports. His most recent measurements were sitting at around 6-2 3/4 and weighing in at 227 pounds. Kolenge also credits his relationship with Linebacker's Coach Jack Tyler for Virginia Tech being so high on his list for recruitment. Should be interesting to see how Kolenge's visit to Blacksburg goes and if a decision will be stamped in after.

Hokies in the Top 8 for 2022 OT - Tyler Gibson out of Alpharetta, Georgia has announced his top eight schools going forward. The Hokies made that list alongside schools such as Mississippi State, Virginia, Georgia Tech, and Florida State. And with no clear leader at the point, it will be an interesting race to the finish for this 2022 OT.

The Hokies need to look no further than their 2021 commit Cole Nelson who attends the same school as Gibson. This new connection, mixed with the Hokies need for an OT this recruiting cycle, is a sure indicator that the Hokies will give it all they got for this 6-5, 290 pounds prospect.

Gibson is currently rated at .8799, according to 247 Sports. He also finds himself ranked at the 453rd spot nationally and 48th for offensive tackles in the nation. Don't be surprised to see a big push for Gibson here soon from the Virginia Tech Staff.
