Trio of Maryland Blue-Chips Headline Hokies Spring Game Visitors
The Virginia Tech Hokies are suiting up for their Spring Game on Saturday, and this year it will play host to some of highest-priority recruits of the 2025 cycle. Brent Pry has positioned himself well with many of these players, and if things play out how the staff is hoping, they will leave the ‘Burg committed to the Hokies. Here is a preview on some of the biggest names visiting Lane Stadium this Saturday.
QB Malik Washington, Archbishop Spalding (MD)
If there is one position a coach is going to roll out the red carpet for, it’s quarterback. Malik Washington is tall, accurate, and smart with the football, all a coach needs in a college freshman, as a current junior in high school. He has led the Spalding Cavaliers to two consecutive state titles, with one more year to complete the three-peat. Washington’s current top six includes VT, Oregon, Texas A&M, Syracuse, Penn State, and in-state Maryland. There has been buzz about the state school and Penn State at times, but the Virginia Tech staff has a big opportunity to potentially seal the deal on Washington this weekend.
WR Jeff Exinor, McDonogh School (MD)
If you want to see what Exinor could do at Virginia Tech, watch out for #7 in maroon Chanz Wiggins on Saturday. They are both big, physical receivers with long strides. Exinor is especially skilled in being able to use his frame to high point balls over the cornerback. Exinor boasts offers from Oregon, USC, Michigan, and Penn State. With his size, he has the potential to be used as a hybrid receiver in the H-back position, and time will tell if that will occur in Blacksburg.
S Faheem Delane, Good Counsel (MD)
Delane is the crown jewel of this visit group, ranked as a fringe 5-star on every recruiting site. He is able to be a dominant downfield run stuffer while maintaining his leverage to drop back and be effective in pass coverage. His fast, smart style of play garnered the attention of almost every top program in country. The Hokies hope to parlay his hopes of playing with his brother Mansoor into securing his commitment from him.
S JaDon Blair, Mount Tabor (NC)
Blair plays in a defense where they play their safeties very high, but his elite burst allows him to still thwart screens and run plays. His best attribute may be his ball skills that gives him the luxury of not having to undercut routes to get interceptions. Blair has official visits set to South Carolina, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State after his session at Lane.
Commits Khanlij Harrell, Carter Stallard, and Brett Clatterbaugh are also slated to be on attendance on Saturday. Brent Pry got a lot of top talent on campus, but the jury is still out on whether he can seal the deal this weekend.
