Down Goes Duke AND a Paul Debnam Interview!
There are some things that never get old. For instance - it could be a favorite movie, it could be a favorite playlist, it could be beating UVA year in and year out in football, or it could be when the Hokies beat the Duke Blue Devils in Cassell Coliseum. The Hokies did it again y'all. Say what you want about Buzz Williams, but we have to give the man credit where credit is due: He sparked the flame in the budding rivalry that has become the Hokies vs. the Blue Devils on the basketball court. To be honest, here at the Sons of Saturday, we're all here for it. To be able to go toe to toe with a storied program like Duke is nothing short of incredible - ESPECIALLY in year two of the Coach Mike Young era. Speaking of which, Coach Young, if you're reading this, you're the man. Hokie Nation is rallying around the culture you are cultivating in Blacksburg, and we all can't wait to see how far it goes. This is just the beginning, y'all. So buckle up and strap in.
In this episode, the Breckenridge boys Patty Ice and Billy Shmurda start the show discussing this week's win over Duke, the success of the basketball program as a collective, and a few other Hokie headlines that have come about over the past several days. The latter half of the episode is spearheaded by GraySon of Saturday, who had the distinct honor of interviewing Virginia Tech basketball legend and Minister of Culture Paul Debnam. The Sons were actually all able to meet up and run a football score prediction with Paul back in October during their weekend in Charlotte, which we've linked below.
Thanks for coming on Paul! We'll talk real soon!
