Hokie Headlines + Special Guest: Joe Bamisile
There is a TON going on right now and the Sons of Saturday have you covered! The whole crew got together on Sunday to dive into the biggest stories of the past few weeks that have continued to unfold leading up to the *potential* 2020 football season.
News has been breaking at a unprecedented rate and we wanted to give our take on the situation at that particular moment. Billy Ray also took some time to expand on his Twitter video that was released last week (See Below). This is a side of the story that is going largely ignored... Why student athletes are fighting to keep football. The games are a huge reason, but it is much deeper than that.

We also dive into the denial of Raheem Blackshear's waiver seeking immediate eligibility for this upcoming season. This makes the Hokies 0-4 in recent waiver requests (Braxton Burmeister, Brock Hoffman *twice*, and now Blackshear). This is deeply disappointing, but not necessarily surprising. Who is to blame? How can we get this fixed? The Virginia Tech compliance department will appeal this decision and we all are hoping for the best.
Special Guest: Freshman Joe Bamisile
In the second half of this episode Grayson and Billy Ray are joined by Joe Bamisile. Joe is a talented basketball player, musician, and writer that was recruited out of Monacan High School in Chesterfield, VA. Joe was a huge piece of coach Mike Young's 2020 recruiting class and is in Blacksburg preparing for his freshman season.
We cover a wide array of topics on Joe's career's both on and off the basketball court. Joe's musical career is under the name "Phouelisi". We breakdown how his love for music came to be and what goes into his production. Be sure to check out his work on Youtube, Spotify, and all other streaming services.
We also discussed how he approaches his game, players he studies, and his outlook on every day.
