Da’Wain’s commitment to Virginia Tech came as a bit of a surprise to the fan base as he was considered a “Lock” to be headed for Mississippi State. However, an incredible effort from his primary recruiters (Adam Lechtenberg and Jafar Williams) led to him pledging to the Hokies. Lofton’s head coach Joseph Turner also had a connection to the Tech staff as he played running back at TCU. That unit was coached by none other than…Coach Fuente!
Da’Wain recorded 1,216 receiving yards on 55 catches and logged a total of THIRTY TWO touchdowns. He has a versatile skill set which shines in his tape and breakaway speed as well.
Da’Wain was a great get for the Hokies, and quite frankly, a ton of fun to interview. Looking forward to him making plays in Blacksburg!
