HOW THE HOKIES CAN PULL OFF THE UPSET IN DALLAS | Final Thoughts Friday

The Sons of Saturday podcast delivered their Final Thoughts Friday ahead of the Virginia Tech-SMU game. The hosts, one in Dallas and one at home, discussed the matchups. They focused on Virginia Tech's offense against SMU's defense, particularly the Hokies' offensive line health and the need to re-establish the run game against a quick SMU front. They also touched on the potential for outside receivers like Marlon Jackson and DaVon Brown to step up.

On defense, the discussion centered on Virginia Tech's ability to pressure SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings and contain his improvisational play. The hosts debated whether the defense's improved performance against Clemson was a true turning point. They also considered SMU's diverse receiving threats and the importance of limiting explosive plays. Both hosts gave their score predictions, with one picking Virginia Tech in a close game and the other predicting an SMU win in a high-scoring affair.
