2026 Spring Game Pregame Show - LIVE from the Tailgate!

Spring Game PGS 2026

Excitement for the Spring Game has been palpable ever since the hiring of James Franklin. The Hokies new head whistle has been asking for 66,000 strong in the stands, and the Sons team will be doing their part. However, you don't have to wait for kickoff to get your football fix - join some of your favorite Hokie voices for the 4th Annual Sons of Saturday Spring Game Pregame Show, live at noon up on Chicken Hill.

As always, the show will consist of a panel of ‘independent’ Hokies media members. Brian Seigla from the Boundary Corner Podcast and Dan Pultz from Tales From the Terrordome will once again be acting as co-hosts. These podcasts, along with SOS's very own Two Deep, have collaborated all four years on this event. And since Tech football is in a brand new era, the group decided to shake things up for 2026...

This year's show will be fully immersed in the Virginia Tech Football tailgate experience, calling on long-time Chicken Hill tailgaters Steven Wright and Nate Fullan to help us put together an all-time throw down. Steven always does an amazing job with the spread (both food and booze), thanks to his personal culinary prowess and many contributors. Check out Steven's Instagram page to see what he's been cooking up these past few seasons.

This is a FREE, "come one, come all" event, but we are asking attendees to BYOB, and consider making a Venmo or cash donation upon arrival for the people cooking the food. Show starts at 12pm, tailgate starts before that, and music will be rocking until 2:30pm. Two Deep merch will also be on sale - Virginia/Beer logo hats and "Tech 'til We Die T-shirts" are hot off the press (see image below).

So grab your favorite drinks, bring some friends, and hang out before heading into the stadium. Whether you're into breaking down position battles, or just soaking in the spring football vibes, this is the place to be before kickoff.

Can’t make it in person? No problem — Nate is going help us stream the show live on the Sons of Saturday YouTube channel, so fans everywhere can tune in and be part of the action. The stream has been linked below.

Come early, watch the show, and get ready for a full day of football!

Finally, attached below are pics and links to past shows. The content can get a little out of silly, but that's the point!

I grew up in Delaware and have always identified as a Philly fan. However, once I got to VT, I fell in love with the Hokies. I went to just about every game as a student, dozens as an alum, and turned that passion into the podcast in 2015. Years later, we’re still putting out episodes, and 2024, our 10th season, is sure to be the best yet.

I’m happily married and settled out in the ‘burbs after living in DC and Philly for years. My JMU wife is extremely supportive of my Hokies “hobby” and doesn’t mind spending weekends in Blacksburg cheering on Tech (as long as I root for the Dukes on occasion). I also try to be a valuable member of society, volunteering my time to our local Rotary Club - which the Sons have supported via their online resources.

Being part of the SOS has lit a fire in me and I’m grateful for that. It keeps pushing me to make our content the best it can be.
