Official visit season is finally upon us. And for the Hokies, they will have themselves one of the busiest first weeks out of all of the ACC teams. Not only is their first official visit date of June 4th going to be loaded, but a large visit among 2023 recruits for their unofficial visits for the Hokies. We have a lot to cover, so lets get to it:

First Officials - The Hokies will have their first two major recruiting events this upcoming week with June 1st and June 4th. The first date of June 1st will consist of official visits of Gunner Givens (4-Star OG) and Lemar Law Jr. (3-Star DT), paired with a set of unofficial visits of Rashaud Pernell (3-Star DE) and Quanye Veney (3-Star WR). While the June 4th date will consist of official visits from the likes of Cam Miller (4-Star DB), Bryson Jennings (4-Star DE), and Kyree Moyston (3-Star DE).

Not to mention, a large amount of 2023 recruits such as Braylon Johnson (3-Star DB), Alex Birchmeier (5-Star OG), and Mathias Barnwell (4-Star TE). It is seeming like the Hokies are attempting to have a home run of a week with such talent coming in for the first dates of visit season.

Pernell Releases Top 5 - Last week, 2022 Defensive End Rashaud Pernell announced his Top 5 list. The Hokies were among four others in Coastal Carolina, Minnesota, Boston College, and Wake Forest. Pernell still holds multiple crystal ball predictions in favor of Virginia Tech for his commitment.

The 6-3, 250 pound defensive end would make a great addition to the 2022 recruiting class, which already sits at 33rd in the nation. Currently, Rashaud Pernell sits at a 0.8617 (3-Star) rating on 247 Sports and ranks as the 18th best player in Virginia.

Ike White Top 5 - The 2022 Maryland native, Ike White, dropped his Top 5 list around two weeks ago. His list consisted of teams like Virginia Tech, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Maryland, and Boston College. So far, it is seeming like Virginia Tech and Minnesota are pushing the hardest in White's recruitment. The Maryland native currently has a visit set with the Hokies for June 18th, where he will be joined by already committed TE Harrison Saint-Germain.

The 2022 WR measures in at 5-11, and weighing 185 pounds according to his current numbers. White is now rated at a 0.8500 (3-Star) according to 247 Sports, and is ranked as the 25th best player in the state of Maryland.

Haughton Eyes Top 7 - Last week, another Richmond-area product in Leon Haughton Jr announced his Top 7 schools for his recruitment. We saw Virginia Tech make the list alongside some schools such as Penn State, Georgia, and Virginia. The Virginia native has been on the Hokie's radar for quite some time, with the staff offering Haughton Jr in April of last year.

If we look at his most recent measurements, Haughton comes in at 6-4, 200 pounds for a lengthy receiver build. And according to 247 Sports, he is currently rated at a 0.8516 (3-Star) and also ranks 23rd in the state of Virginia. With no real commitment date in sight for Haughton yet, many are speculating on where he might land. As of now, the only piece of evidence to any answer would be a crystal ball that points him towards UVA.
