Week 3

Good Morning Hokie Nation! It’s week 3 for the Virginia Tech Hokies as the Wofford Terriers travel to Lane Stadium in an early 11 a.m est matchup that will be on the ACC Network. The Hokies kick off Saturday's slate of games around college football and look to start off strong once again. In week 2, the Hokies defense once again showed its prowess as they held B.C to just 4 rushing yards in the game, with great performances from players like Tyjuan Garbutt, Dax Hollifield, and Armani Chatman. On the offensive end, Keshawn King had another great game which included a 65 yard TD run that propelled the offense early and they never looked back. Last week was a game in which the Hokies needed to win and they delivered. Although an early start to today's game, expect for the fans to show up big time once again.

From the Southern Conference, the Wofford Terriers are coming in at an 0-2 record. They have yet to score a point in either of their two games. Expect them to try and rely on their run game to get some points on the board. Considering the Hokies run defense, it probably won't bode well for the Terriers.

Weather

If your waking up early for some tailgaiting, it's going to be a little on the chilly side. Around gametime will be a perfect sunny and 75.

Things around the game

Because this game is a White Effect as well as Tech's annual Military Appreciation game, the university will be selling t-shirts for the game from the Hokie Shop's trailer in Lot 4. If you don't have a white effect tee yet, be sure to pick one up.

Born in Chesapeake and raised into a family of hokies, Virginia Tech is where I call home now. Attended New River Community College as a freshman and now a sophomore at VT as a transfer student in Fall 2022. Majoring in Sports Media and Analytics, I’m excited for what’s to come for me as a student at VT.

Virginia Tech sports has always been something I have been a fan of. From afternoons in Lane Stadium to nights in Cassell Coliseum, I have loved every second of it no matter the outcome.

One of my first memories of being a Tech fan was our upset win against Ohio State 35-21 where CB Donovan Riley had the game sealing pick-6. More recently, beating UNC in 6 overtimes, our run to the sweet 16, and of course winning the men’s basketball ACC Championship with upsets over UNC and Duke.
