2022 RB Bryce Duke on his Official Visit to Virginia Tech

The Virginia Tech Staff is seeming to be on a hot streak as of lately with commitments. This time with in-state running back Bryce Duke out of Leesburg, Virginia. The 2022 running back took to his social media accounts on Tuesday afternoon to announce his decision to become a Hokie.

Bryce Duke measured up to be about 5-11, 196 pounds in his latest round of camp measurements. He has a solid frame that helps him along in the backfield. And his ability to be used efficiently on gadget plays, which the Hokies love to run, is a prime reason the staff pushed so hard for Duke to commit. Another great thing about Duke's playing style is that he continues to find separation on the tail end of plays, even if it is for an extra yard or two.

The 2022 running back is currently rated as a 0.8466 (3-Star) according to 247 Sports and holds a ranking as the 26th best player out of the state of Virginia. Although, his composite rating across multiple other sites holds him at a higher rating, which means we could possibly see a rating bump come further down the line for Duke.

Other schools we saw really push for Bryce Duke were Rutgers and Appalachian State, and he held other offers from schools like Cincinnati and Duke. For the longest time, it was seeming like Bryce Duke was going to end up committing to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. However, an offer in early June from the Virginia Tech Staff had the in-state running back excited at a possibly to stay home and compete. This in turn made Duke schedule an official visit to Blacksburg for the June 11th weekend and the rest was history.

Welcome Bryce Duke to the Hokie family, as he becomes the twelfth commitment of the 2022 recruiting class and the third commit out of Virginia for the Hokies.
