The month of July is already heating up for the Hokies, this go-around with a commitment from 2022 WR Tucker Holloway. The North Carolina native plays out of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee High School in Andrews, NC. Holloway made his decision known to the nation when he took his news to his social media accounts on Saturday afternoon.

In his latest camp measurements, Holloway came in at 6-2.5 and weighing in at 178 pounds. His move from the quarterback to wide receiver placed him on the radar of the Hokies. This is where we started to see Holloway exemplify a showing of great speed, mixed with a natural ability for route running. This combination has made him a threat against opposing defenses, who just can't seem to contain the speedy wide receiver. Holloway even set a stat line of averaging 20.0 yards per catch in his 2020 football season, so look out for more big plays to be produced from this 2022 commit come this fall.

As of now, Holloway sits at a 247 composite rating of an .8400 (3-Star) and is ranked inside the Top 200 Wide Receivers nationally. Many insiders though believe that Holloway will receive a rating bump somewhere in the near future, as Holloway has had some impressive camps and looks to have another great year at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee.

The Hokies offered Holloway back in April of this year and since then Virginia Tech has seemed like the one, true leader in his recruitment. Other schools we saw in the push for Holloway's recruitment were Iowa State and UConn mainly. However, a great relationship between Holloway and both Running Backs Coach Adam Lechtenberg and Wide Receivers Coach Jafar Williams secured the commitment from the NC native.

Tucker Holloway now becomes the fifteenth commitment for the Hokies in the 2022 recruiting class and second player out of the state of North Carolina as well. Welcome Tucker to the Hokie family!
