Quite as seemingly as he appeared, Evan Fairs has decided to place his name into the Transfer Portal with intentions to transfer elsewhere. The Hokies WR placed his name into the portal on Wednesday afternoon and announced his decision on his social media pages.

Going into his tenure at Kansas, the wide receiver was 3-Star recruit with a listed 247 Composite Rating of a .8167. Struggling to find playing time at his original landing spot, Fairs transferred to Virginia Tech in the summer of 2020.

During his time at Virginia Tech, Evan recorded 2 catches that went for 18 receiving yards. Although this doesn't seem like much of a loss on the surface, Evan was known for his highly touted blocking on the outside for screen and run plays.

Aside from being a helpful blocker, the wide receiver added some depth for his position group. This means the Hokies now look to the development of Jaden Payoute and Tyree Saunders as leaders at the wide receiver core going into the 2021 season.

And remember, just because Evan Fairs has entered the portal, doesn't mean he cannot return to the Hokies team for next season. However, it looks like Evan is intending on transferring from the Hokies team.
