All eyes will be on Florida this weekend, mostly for Virginia Tech's Saturday tilt at Miami. I suppose some eyes will look north to Tampa on Sunday for the Superb Owl football match, but we all know where the real drama will be.

Those owls will really get after ya.

There's lots of talk on the show this week about Tech's outstanding basketball teams. The women's team knocked off No. 2 N.C. State and finally pulled off a close win, this time against North Carolina. The men meanwhile took down No. 8 Virginia and have a chance to earn their eighth ACC win of the year Saturday against Miami.

Both teams need to finish strong of course but currently it's looking like NCAA Tournament berths are on the table for both programs. That's some major history.

Not so fun fact, the men's and women's teams have never earned NCAA Tournament bids in the same season. I eagerly await your angry tweets and emails cursing me for me incurring the wrath of the basketball Gods.

The rest of the show features a big game pick and I encourage people to listen to the latest Weezer album because I'm hip and with it. Here, I did the leg work for you on this. Honestly if you don't at least kind of enjoy alternative rock/pop with orchestral backing recorded at Abbey Road we've got beef.

Enjoy the show and have fun with your strange, socially distanced Superb Owl experiences this weekend. Time to start a fire (controlled) and make some dip.

My Dad graduated from Tech in 1981 and I’ve been attending Virginia Tech sporting events since I first moved to Blacksburg in 1988. I myself graduated in 2008 with a Communication degree. During my time as a student I was the Sports Director for WUVT and helped establish and run Planet Blacksburg, an independent student-run news website. I’ve since written for numerous publications including SBNation, Inside The ACC, and Sports Illustrated's AllHokies. Currently, I host The Justin Cates Show in addition to other contributions here at Sons of Saturday and various other sites as the need arises. I now live in a fortified compound in upstate New York with my wife and numerous animals. The smell of popcorn makes me think of Cassell.
